Arizona Game and Fish Department produces OHV safety movie

“One Short Ride” premiere is Nov. 1

The Arizona Game and Fish Department has made off-highway vehicle and driver safety a priority in 2012. In an effort to improve education and awareness on the trails and off, the department has produced a 28-minute film about OHV safety. In 2010, Arizona experienced eight off-highway vehicle fatalities and in 2011 that number rose to 29. The Arizona Game and Fish Department in cooperation with the Southwest Alliance for Recreational Safety (SWA4RS) have produced this movie to educate the public regarding OHV safety and to get the message out to all who participate in OHV recreation.

Vice-President Nominee Keynotes Sportsmen’s Super-Rally

(Columbus, OH; Sep 29, 2012) – Before a sold-out audience of hunters, anglers, trappers and U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance members, 2012 Republican Vice Presidential nominee Congressman Paul Ryan let the gathered know—he’s one of them. He also had praise for the benefits of hunting and fishing.

“Hunters and anglers are the best conservationists. It is very critical that we pass it on to the next generation,” said Congressman Ryan.  “Youth learn such great life lessons when you take them hunting.”

Ryan spoke about his experience as a hunter, and how this influence helps him make critical conservation and natural resources decisions as an elected official. Plus, he noted how important the 2012 election is to sportsmen and women.

Sportsmen Purchases Remain Steady

FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. — A look at the buying habits of sportsmen in 2011 compared to the previous year reveals purchases of hunting and fishing equipment have remained steady in the current year, and in fact, even slightly improved.

In the most recent survey at HunterSurvey.com, participants were asked if they were buying more, less or the same amount of hunting equipment so far this year compared to 2010.
