Every Trail is a Special Trail

With just a dozen days left until November 6, TPAC believes that "excessive regulation" has joined the "gun issue" as a deciding factor in this election. Many political experts believe that Al Gore's harsh anti-gun stance cost him the election in the 2000 presidential race against George Bush.

Over-regulation at the EPA, Department of Interior, and other agencies has been a major topic throughout the primary and presidential debates. Those regulations are impacting energy development - including the reduction of permits issued - on public lands. It's not just energy permits that have been reduced or made complex over the last 4 years... the Department of Interior is threatening the issuance of OHV permits due to a myriad of baseless concerns about potential impacts that motorized events might have on the Sage Grouse and other species.

Dear Trail Voter:

The mainstream media is working overtime to bias the news to discourage pro-trail voters in blue and battleground states in the hope that you will give up and stay home. The Trail PAC is going to counter that with the 1st ever pro-trail and OHV social media week. This national counter offensive is called OPERATION SOARING EAGLE.

Some congressional races are won or lost by less than 50 votes or just one vote per precinct. With the election just a few weeks away, it is important for trail voters to inform their Facebook friends about our targeted races and encourage them to go to the polls on November 6 and VOTE!

4x4Wire 2012 Voters Guide

Forest Service travel management-related closures and over-regulation by the EPA often impact trail use on public lands. Tens of thousands of miles of historic trails and roads on public lands have been closed over the last 4 years to OHV users. Trail enthusiasts need pro-OHV advocates in the U.S. Senate and U.S House of Representatives to champion responsible access to public lands.

The Trail Political Action Committee (TPAC) was founded as the first national non-partisan political action committee dedicated solely to championing responsible off-highway vehicle recreation on designated roads, trails, and areas on public lands through the electoral and legislative processes.

TPAC believes that "all land-use decisions are political decisions." The TPAC strategic goal is simple. TPAC will contribute to pro-access politicians who will support OHV recreation friendly legislation and oppose anti-access proposals and agency over regulation.

Arizona Game and Fish reiterates concerns about some forest travel management restrictions

Sept. 21, 2012 - The Arizona Game and Fish Department has been in ongoing discussions with the USDA Forest Service over the past several years as the different forests go through their forest and travel management planning processes.

The Kaibab National Forest on Sept. 18 announced it had issued its final Travel Management Plan to designate roads, trails, and areas for motorized use on the North Kaibab Ranger District. There is a 45-day appeal period. Implementation of travel management rules on the Kaibab Plateau is expected to begin in January 2013.

Lungren for Congress Fundraiser Set

The Trail PAC is proud to announce that it will join with 4WD and motorcycle leaders to host a regional fundraiser in support of Dan Lungren for Congress (CA -CD7).  This is one of the tightest House races in the country and Dan needs the support of trail voters across this country to help maintain a pro-trail majority in the House of Representatives.

The event will be held at CAL4WD HQ in Sacramento on September 30 from 6:30-8:30pm.  There will be plenty of time for off-roaders to visit with Dan on various access and regulatory topics. Dan is a pro-trail champion who recently attended and spoke at the 2012 Hangtown MX at Prairie City SVRA near Sacramento, CA.  He understands that federal land agencies and the regulators have painted a bulls-eye on the back of the OHV community.
