ORV riders should use caution on Kalkaska ORV Route north of County Road 612
Michigan Department of Natural Resources officials announced today that the Kalkaska ORV Route just north of County Road 612 in Kalkaska County has water flowing over the trail. The trail is located in Blue Lake Township, Section 36. See attached map showing the affected area.
This area is prime habitat for beavers, which have backed up water onto the trail. Caution signage will forewarn trail users that they are likely to encounter water in this area.
The DNR is pursuing a long-term solution to this problem.
